Section NJ101 (RJ101) Demand Responsive Water Heating
NJ101.1 (RJ101.1) Demand responsive water heating.
Electric storage water heaters with a rated water storage volume of 40 gallons (150 L) to 120 gallons (450 L) and a nameplate input rating equal to or less than 12 kW shall be provided with demand responsive controls in accordance with Table NJ101.1.
Exceptions:
- 1.
Water heaters that are capable of delivering water at a temperature of 180°F (82°C) or greater.
- 2.
Water heaters that comply with Section IV, Part HLW or Section X of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
- 3.
Water heaters that use three-phase electric power.
