Appendix BH Automatic Vehicular Gates

The provisions contained in this appendix are not mandatory unless specifically referenced in the adopting ordinance.

Section BH101 General

BH101.1 General.

The provisions of this appendix shall control the design and construction of automatic vehicular gates installed on the lot of a one- or two-family dwelling.

Section BH102 Definition

BH102.1 General.

The following term shall, for the purposes of this appendix, have the meaning shown herein.

VEHICULAR GATE.

A gate that is intended for use at a vehicular entrance or exit to the lot of a one- or two-family dwelling, and that is not intended for use by pedestrian traffic.

Section BH103 Automatic Vehicular Gates

BH103.1 Vehicular gates intended for automation.

Vehicular gates intended for automation shall be designed, constructed and installed to comply with the requirements of ASTM F2200.

BH103.2 Vehicular gate openers.

Vehicular gate openers, where provided, shall be listed in accordance with UL 325.

BH104.1 General.
