Where we work,
and the record we work it from.

Three states, 44 markets, and a federal storm record for every one of them. Hail, wind, water, fire, or a carrier number that looks low: we recover what their estimate missed.

Free and confidential. Not every claim qualifies — three taps tells you if yours does.

The short answer: Friedman & Associates is licensed in Georgia, Tennessee and South Carolina, and headquartered at 701 Sterling Reserve in Canton, Georgia. We represent policyholders in hail, wind, tornado, water, fire and commercial claims, and in our specialty: claims that were denied or underpaid. Fees are contingency only, inside each state's statutory limits. No recovery, no fee. Call 770-230-2616 or text the partners.

Call us before you call your carrier. The first phone call shapes the whole claim. Already filed, or an adjuster already assigned? We're still your next call.

One office, on purpose

A storefront never inspected a roof. Public adjusting is field work: the evidence that moves a claim lives on your shingles, in your attic and inside the carrier's own paperwork. So the firm keeps a single headquarters in Canton and brings the practice to the loss, which is why these pages lead with a storm record rather than a map pin.

From the HQ it is about ten minutes to Holly Springs, fifteen to Woodstock and Ball Ground, twenty to Acworth, twenty-five to Kennesaw, thirty to Roswell, thirty-five to Alpharetta and about forty-five to the Atlanta perimeter. Tennessee and South Carolina are worked as licensed travel practice, with in-person inspections and a secure login to your live case file so you can watch it move from anywhere.

Questions we hear before the first call

Should I call you before I call my insurance company?

Yes. What gets said in the first call shapes the whole claim, so talk to us first. Already filed, or an adjuster already assigned? Call us anyway. We step in at any stage, and the earlier the better.

Do you have an office in my town?

One office, in Canton, Georgia, and it is deliberate. Public adjusting is field work: the evidence that moves a claim is on your roof, in your attic and in the carrier’s own paperwork, none of which is in a storefront. We bring the practice to the loss and every client watches the claim move in a secure portal.

What does it cost, and does it change by state?

It changes by state because the law does. Georgia caps public adjuster fees at 33⅓% of the settlement. Tennessee caps them at 15% before the carrier makes an offer and 25% of only the increase after one, with nothing collectible before your claim settles. South Carolina sets no percentage cap but requires the terms in bold in a written contract with five business days to cancel. Everywhere: contingency, and no recovery, no fee.

Why does every one of these pages have a storm table on it?

Because the most common denial in this business is a causation opinion — wear and tear, not storm damage — and an opinion gets rebutted with a date. Every page reads the NOAA Storm Events Database and the National Weather Service’s local storm reports for that market’s own county, refreshed weekly.

Can my roofer or contractor handle the claim for me?

No, and all three states drew that line to protect you. Georgia bars roofing contractors from adjusting claims, Tennessee treats claim negotiation as licensed public adjuster work, and South Carolina makes it a felony for a contractor to adjust the claim it intends to repair. That is no knock on your builder. We handle the carrier, they handle the build.

How fast do you move?

The first call is answered by a person and the free case review takes three taps. Near the Canton office, inspections are often same-day; further out they are scheduled around getting there properly rather than quickly.

My town is not on this list. Does that mean you cannot help?

No. The pages here are the markets we have written up, not the limit of where we are licensed. We hold public adjuster licences in Georgia, Tennessee and South Carolina. If your property is in any of the three, start the review and we will tell you plainly whether we are the right firm for it.

Every county ledger on this site is refreshed weekly from the NOAA Storm Events Database and the National Weather Service's local storm reports (last: 2026-08-10). Storm reports are point observations from spotters, stations, and survey teams — a sample of what happened, never an inventory. The absence of an entry for a date or place is not evidence that no damage occurred there.

Friedman & Associates are licensed public adjusters in Georgia, Tennessee and South Carolina, not attorneys. Our work is the licensed practice of public adjusting: reading the policy, documenting and valuing the loss, negotiating with the carrier, and preparing appraisal. Nothing on this page is legal advice, and litigation, including bad-faith suits, is referred to independent policyholder counsel.

While you wait: three things never to say to your carrier
  1. "It's probably been like that a while." Guessing at timelines hands them "wear and tear," the most common denial in the book. State only what you know.
  2. "We're fine, it's not that bad." Politeness gets priced in. The full damage isn't known until it's professionally documented, so never minimize on a recorded line.
  3. "Sure, I'll give a recorded statement now." You can decline politely until you've spoken with your representative. One innocent guess can follow your claim forever.
